When you approach your session of hypnotherapy with a positive attitude, and you’re ready to make the change you want, you can achieve it as easily as Laura has. She had a session of hypnotherapy via Skype and this is what she has to say:
“Wow! That’s where I’ll start. Having tried most diets under the sun for the past however many years, and knowing full well they are all fad diets, all working at the time, but not long term. I knew that it was a full lifestyle change, but more of a mental change. When I put my mind to it, I can do it, but then a few weeks and a few pounds down, something would always slip. I knew that my brain needed resetting somehow.
I saw, on a friend’s Facebook, Barbara’s Hypnotherapy page and I was intrigued, as mindful eating was something that I’d been seeing a lot recently. With one quick message, Barbara came back to me with a very quick appointment, which was excellent as I had the bee in my bonnet, as such, and wanted to go for it. When we met over Skype we talked a little about where I wanted to be, what I wanted out of it etc. etc. and Barbara tailored the session to my specific needs.
The whole process was really relaxing. I could feel my body relax and my mind was listening. Obviously I had no idea if it was going to work, but I tried to keep an open mind. After the session I felt almost invigorated. I definitely felt more positive. I was still sceptical but I thought, ‘Go for it!’ I literally stopped thinking about it after a couple of hours. With a three year old and a five month old, other things took my thoughts. It was only a couple of days later I noticed that I hadn’t touched or even thought about “unnecessary foods”. It was my daughter’s birthday and we had a BBQ and cake. I literally ate one burger, and there was so much food there, but I didn’t even touch it. I had two bites of cake and realised I wasn’t actually enjoying it, so I left it. At the time, I didn’t think anything about it. Only later that night I realised that subconsciously this must be working. I’m not thinking, ‘Oh, but I can’t have that. I must be strong.’ I’m just not wanting it in the first place.
It has now been like that for well over a week. I’ve had two thoughts of, ‘Oh, I could just have…’, but when I’ve thought of that, I’ve looked at it, taken a few breaths in the way that Barbara described during the session, and realised that I actually don’t want it, and it is just habit.
Yesterday I took a friend for lunch for her birthday. Looking at all the ‘yummy’ food on the menu, I opted for a chicken salad with no dressing without even thinking about it! We had coffee later and she had cake. I didn’t even have a thought of cake! This is seriously not me!! I can only put this all down to the hypnotherapy session. I am feeling so much better. I’m exercising without moaning and I want to be fitter and healthier.
